Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.

The aim of the Croydon Children’s Department is to introduce all children to the Bible and lay the foundation for them to enter into a relationship with God.  Ii is hoped in creating a loving and caring environment they will be able to talk freely about God and issues that affect them, openly and with confidence.

In order to achieve this each Sabbath morning, between the hours of 10.00 – 11.30, the children are encouraged to attend structured classes during Sabbath School.  Leaders of the department are experienced teachers and child workers who are enthusiastic in seeking to support pupils who may also be struggling academically.  Incorporating various teaching methods, the children are encouraged to explore the Bible in ways which are creative and fun.

Sabbath School classes are divided into four groups.

3-5 year olds

6-8 years olds

9-12 year olds

13- 18 year olds.

Children from the local community are welcome to attend Sabbath School and any events the Children’s department hosts.

The children’s department strive to meet the emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual needs of each child. Throughout the year the department arranges various social events such as day trips to the seaside, visits to theme parks, fundraising events, quizzes, sports days, summer school and the annual children’s day.  All these allow the opportunity for the children to interact, be creative, learn and develop socially

Children are encouraged to develop their musical abilities whether by singing in the youth choir or learning to play an instrument.  They are given access to several keyboards and other musical instruments and are encouraged to enhance their playing skills.
